How is engagement rate worked out?
Add up likes, comments, saves and shares, divide by the number of posts, then divide by your followers and multiply by 100. It is the average share of your followers who interact with each post.
What is a good engagement rate?
There is no official benchmark. As a rough guide, under 1% is low, 1% to 3% is typical, 3% to 6% is strong and over 6% is very high. Smaller accounts and TikTok usually see higher rates, so compare yourself with similar accounts.
Should I use reach instead of followers?
Some brands prefer engagement by reach, which you can only see in your own app insights. Followers is the figure anyone can check, so it is the one most media kits use.
