Why is my X count different from the character count?
X counts every link as 23 characters, and emoji and most Chinese, Japanese and Korean characters as 2. The X row follows those rules; the other rows count each character once.
Are meta title and description limits strict?
No. Search engines cut titles and descriptions by width in pixels, not by a set number of characters. About 60 characters for a title and 160 for a description are guides that usually fit.
Is my text sent anywhere?
No. Counting happens in your browser as you type.
