How we verify revenue

Every revenue figure on URX comes straight from a payment provider the founder connected. Here is what that means, and what it does not.

Where the numbers come from

A founder connects their payment provider with a read-only key. URX reads payments, refunds and subscriptions from it and works out the figures below. Founders cannot type in or edit a public revenue figure.

Supported providers: Stripe, Paddle, Lemon Squeezy, Polar, Dodo Payments, Whop, Creem, Shopify, RevenueCat, App Store Connect, Superwall.

What each figure means

Monthly recurring revenue (MRR)
What active subscriptions bring in each month, worked out from the subscriptions the provider reports. Yearly plans count as one twelfth per month.
Total revenue
Money collected through the connected provider over the business's history, after refunds.

Figures are shown in the currency the business charges in. We never convert or mix currencies, so compare businesses in the same currency.

How often figures refresh

New payments, refunds and cancellations are picked up as the provider reports them. On top of that, URX re-reads each connected account once a day to catch anything missed.

Every figure shows when it was last updated. If a provider stops responding or a founder disconnects it, the figure stops updating and its date gets older, so you can see it is out of date.

What verified means

Verified means

  • The number was read from the business's own payment provider, not typed in by the founder.
  • It is re-checked against the provider every day, and payment updates arrive as they happen.
  • The provider and the date of the last update are shown next to every figure.

Verified does not mean

  • It is not profit. Costs, fees, salaries and taxes are not included.
  • It is not a valuation, an audit or a promise of future results.
  • It does not prove who owns the business. Check that in a sale before you pay.

A figure we checked carries a “Verified” label. Point at it, or use a screen reader, to see how: matched to individual payments, or worked out from the active subscriptions the provider reports. Figures a maker keeps to themselves say “Not shared”.

Privacy and founder controls

  • When a founder publishes their product, its revenue shows by default. They can hide the numbers at any time, and they disappear from the directory and statistics.
  • A founder can stay anonymous: the figure is shown without the business name or website.
  • We only publish totals. Customer names, emails and individual payments are never shown.
  • Statistics hide any group of fewer than three businesses, so no single business can be picked out.
