Questions

What do the harmonies mean?

Analogous uses neighbouring hues, complementary uses the opposite hue, split complementary uses the two hues beside the opposite, triadic and square space hues evenly around the colour wheel, and monochrome keeps one hue at different lightness.

What do AA and AAA mean?

They are WCAG contrast levels. 4.5:1 passes AA for normal text, 3:1 passes AA for large text, and 7:1 passes AAA. Each swatch shows its contrast against white and black text.

How do I use the CSS variables?

Copy the result into your stylesheet and use the colours as var(--analogous-1) and so on. Rename them to match your design system.
